Big Sisters of Atlantic and Cape May Counties takes fundraising to new heights
with Over the Edge, a unique fundraising event that offers participants the exhilarating
opportunity of rappelling down a 15-story building. Scheduled for Saturday,
September 24th at the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel
in Atlantic City, Over the Edge allows participants to rappel over 175 feet in
a completely safe environment. Participants can sign up at www.overtheedgeac.org.
have a Communications and Campaign Coordinator Internship that is perfect for
students seeking internships in marketing, not-for-profit management, or
fundraising. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Atlantic ad Cape May County is a
not-for-profit agency that seeks to provide children with life-changing mentoring
relationships. We have a small staff, so we rely on this role every summer to
help us during our busiest time of the year. The role will focus on our biggest
fundraising campaign of the year, and help our programs run smoothly by
ensuring inquiring volunteers and children receive the proper paperwork and
next steps they face.
Wild Walk for Kids, Saturday, April 9th 2016, Registration Begins at 9:30AM.
We are once again taking a walk on the wild side to support the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Atlantic and Cape May Counties mentoring programs. Please join us on Saturday April 9th, at the Cape May County Park and Zoo. Registration will begin at 9:30AM.
It is best to enter and park near the Route 9 Entrance to the Zoo. We will be gathering in the area of The Bandstand.
During registration there will be snacks, music, face painting, a mascot race, and a zumba warm up. The 2 mile walk will kick off at 10:35AM. Following the walk we encourage our walkers to visit the zoo.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Atlantic and Cape May Counties would
like to announce our annual “Bigs of the Year Award” recipients. This year’s Big Sister of the Year Award goes to Nicolette Carty,
of the Villas, NJ. Nicolette started as a Little Sister in our program in 2007
at 10 years old. She loved the experience so much, that when she entered High
School, she decided to be a Big Sister in our school based program. She was
matched with Little Sister Destiny, and the two eventually moved into the
Community Based program in 2014 after Nicolette graduated High School. This year’s Big Brother of the Year Award goes to Eric Reich of
Marmora, NJ. Eric was matched with Little Brother Seamus in 2010 when Seamus
was just 10 years old. Seamus, now a junior in high school, has come to see
Eric as a part of his family. Shortly after being matched with Seamus, Eric
joined the Big Brothers Big Sisters Board of Director, where he serves as Board

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Atlantic & Cape May
Counties is hosting its annual car raffle drawing to support the services we
offer to local children facing adversity. Tickets are available now through Sunday, October 11th when
the winning ticket will be pulled at the Irish Festival in Smithville.
Only 1,965 tickets will be sold, giving ticket holders tremendous
odds of winning. Each ticket is $100 and
proceeds go directly to support the services we provide for children in
Atlantic and Cape May County.
