Northfield, NJ – July 11, 2016 – For Eric Reich, President of the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Atlantic and Cape May Counties, Over the Edge is more than a fundraiser for an organization close to his heart. It represents a chance to give his Little Brother, Seamus, the opportunity of a lifetime, while teaching him valuable lessons, such as working toward ambitious goals, facing fears, and overcoming obstacles.

On Saturday, September 24, Eric and Seamus will rappel from the roof of the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel in Atlantic City. Side by side, they’ll make their way 15 stories to the ground, supporting and encouraging each other along the way.

“Rappelling 175 feet down the side of a building would be incredible on my own,” said Eric, who has been Seamus’ mentor, role model, and friend since January of 2010. “The fact that I have the chance to share the experience with Seamus makes it that much more special.” The substantial impact Eric has had on Seamus’ life, combined with his contributions to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Atlantic and Cape May Counties, led to his recognition as Big Brother of the Year in March of 2016.

Like the other participants in Over the Edge, Eric and Seamus are each committed to raising at least $1,000 for the nonprofit organization. Supporters who would like to help Seamus meet his fundraising goal can do so by visiting his fundraising page: To date, 30 of the 90 available rappelling spots have been reserved. Registration for the remaining spots can be completed online at
