BIG AND LITTLE BROTHER
GO OVER THE EDGE SIDE BY SIDE
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24
NJ – July 11, 2016 – For Eric Reich, President of the Board of Directors of Big
Brothers Big Sisters of Atlantic and Cape May Counties, Over the Edge is more
than a fundraiser for an organization close to his heart. It represents a
chance to give his Little Brother, Seamus, the opportunity of a lifetime, while
teaching him valuable lessons, such as working toward ambitious goals, facing
fears, and overcoming obstacles.
Saturday, September 24, Eric and Seamus will rappel from the roof of the
Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel in Atlantic City. Side by
side, they’ll make their way 15 stories to the ground, supporting and
encouraging each other along the way.
175 feet down the side of a building would be incredible on my own,” said Eric,
who has been Seamus’ mentor, role model, and friend since January of
2010. “The fact that I have the chance to share the experience with
Seamus makes it that much more special.” The substantial impact Eric has
had on Seamus’ life, combined with his contributions to Big Brothers Big
Sisters of Atlantic and Cape May Counties, led to his recognition as Big
Brother of the Year in March of 2016.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Atlantic & Cape May Counties:
Brothers Big Sisters’ mission is to provide children facing adversity with
strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that
change their lives for the better, forever.
Partnering with parents/guardians, schools, corporations and others in the
community, Big Brothers Big Sisters carefully pairs children (“Littles”) with
screened volunteer mentors (“Bigs”) and monitors and supports them in
one-to-one mentoring matches throughout their course. The organization holds
itself accountable for children in the program to achieve measurable outcomes,
such as higher aspirations; greater confidence and better relationships; educational
success; and avoidance of delinquency and other risky behaviors. Most children
served by Big Brothers Big Sisters are in single-parent and low-income families
or households where a parent is incarcerated. Learn how you can positively
impact a child’s life, donate or volunteer at www.bbbsatlanticcape.org.
