Essential to the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) brand,
the primary function of this position is to provide support to clients and volunteers
from the inquiry contact throughout the life of the mentoring
relationship. The focus of all duties
is to ensure child safety, positive impacts for youth, constructive and
satisfying relationships between children and volunteers.
Performance Measures: A successful
Match Support Specialist will produce positive outcomes in the following
areas: match closure rate, match retention rate, average match length,
volunteer rematch rate, and customer satisfaction.
Bachelors degree in social services, human resources
or related field preferred. Proficiency
in Microsoft OFFICE; including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Must have car, valid
driver’s license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Self-motivated, energetic, organized, results-driven,
creative and innovative. Excellent oral and written communication skills
reflecting solid customer service both in-person and telephone; ability to:
form and sustain appropriate child, adult volunteer-based relationships based
on positive youth development and volunteer satisfaction; effectively assess
and execute the following relational support skills: guiding, supporting,
confronting, advising and/or negotiating; relate well in multicultural environments;
effectively collaborate with other staff; use time effectively; and focus on
A fun, collaborative business environment. The position requires flexible daytime,
evening, and some weekend hours.
