The Bayshore Discovery Project is a nonprofit organization
dedicated to motivating people to take care of the
environment, history, and culture of
New Jersey's Bayshore region through
education, preservation, and example.
A. J. Meerwald
is a Delaware Bay oyster schooner, launched in 1928.
On board, we will get to help crew the schooner,
raise the sails and
handle lines, go
fishing with a trawl net or set and retrieve an
oyster dredge.
About Our Trip:
Our
exciting voyage will take 15 Matches
Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis,
ending no later than July 13
Proper footwear (i.e. sneakers or rubber soled shoes)
and a light jacket recommended
Directions:
Take GSP South until it ends, continue straight
following signs to Cape May.
Cross the bridge and make a right turn at the
U-Turn sign.
Follow to T intersection and go left.
You should see the sign for Utschs Marina.
Proceed under the bridge to the Marina entrance and keep
to your left.
Go to the end of the parking lot and make a right turn to
park. The
Meerwald is at the end of the dock to your right.
